Connect your Stripe account to let the Canvas Agent measure the revenue impact of an incident during an investigation.
Connectors work per user and per Honeycomb Team. You connect your own account, and the Canvas Agent uses the connected service as your account. Connecting a connector does not connect it for anyone else on your Honeycomb Team. If you belong to more than one Honeycomb Team, connect your account in each Team. Your tool permissions also apply only to you, in one Honeycomb Team. There are no Team-level connector controls yet.Connectors work through your account, so an automatic investigation has no connector access at all.

What the Canvas Agent can do

  • Read payments, subscriptions, invoices, and customers.
  • Query Stripe analytics.
  • Search the Stripe documentation.
By default, the Canvas Agent cannot change your Stripe account or move money. Honeycomb gives each Stripe tool that writes data or moves money the Never permission. The Canvas Agent runs reviewed read-only tools without asking. The Canvas Agent runs a tool only when your investigation needs it. To change the defaults, visit Managing tool permissions.

Before you connect

The Canvas Agent connects to Stripe through the Stripe MCP server. The server has these requirements:
  • A Stripe administrator can turn MCP access on or off for your full Stripe team. Live mode and sandboxes have separate settings.
  • On the Stripe authorization page, you select the live mode accounts and sandboxes that the Canvas Agent can access. You can set different permissions for each one.
  • If Stripe builds an analytics query in SQL, the query needs Stripe Sigma.
