Pipeline Builder

Pipeline Builder is Honeycomb’s new, integrated pipeline configuration tool, designed to help teams define, manage, and deploy telemetry data pipelines built on OpenTelemetry (OTel) and Honeycomb’s dynamic, full-trace tail-sampling technology, Refinery.

Pipeline Builder allows you to author and manage pipeline configurations through a Honeycomb-hosted UI, while telemetry data collectors and sampling logic (via Refinery) run in your infrastructure.

Key Features 

• UI-hosted management: Configuration is managed through a centralized Honeycomb interface — no self-hosted UI is required.
• OpenTelemetry-native configuration: Parse logs, enrich and filter data, and route to multiple destinations using intuitive drag-and-drop UI components. Behind the scenes, these components translate your configuration to define pipelines using standard OTel processors, receivers, exporters, and extensions.
• Tail-based sampling with Refinery: Pipeline Builder natively integrates with Refinery, Honeycomb’s sophisticated trace tail-sampling engine, allowing you to reduce costs by sampling repetitive data while keeping the information you need most.
