# Connect your GitHub account to Canvas

> Give your Canvas Agents access to GitHub MCP, repositories, pull requests, and issues during investigations.

To connect your GitHub account to Canvas, your Honeycomb team will need to have the Honeycomb GitHub App installed and authorized.
With the Honeycomb GitHub App installed, members of your Honeycomb team can connect their GitHub accounts to Canvas in their Honeycomb account settings.

  <Step title="Install the Honeycomb GitHub App">

    To install the Honeycomb GitHub App:

    1. [Log in to Honeycomb](https://ui.honeycomb.io/).
    2. Navigate to **Account** > **Team Settings** > **Integrations**.
    3. Find the **Honeycomb + GitHub** section and select **Install GitHub App**.
    4. Follow the steps to install and authorize the Honeycomb GitHub App for your organization.

             Installing the Honeycomb GitHub App requires a GitHub Owner to authorize access to your GitHub organization and its repositories.
           </Note>
    5. Continue the installation process in Honeycomb by selecting the teams, environments, and datasets you want to connect.
           <Note>
             This step requires [**Honeycomb Team Owner** permissions](/configure/teams/manage-permissions/) to complete.

  <Step title="Enable the GitHub Canvas integration for your account">
    <Note>The Honeycomb GitHub App must be installed on your team to connect your GitHub account to Canvas.</Note>

    To connect your GitHub account to Canvas:

    1. In Honeycomb, navigate to **Account** > **My account** > **Canvas Integrations**.
    2. Select **Connect GitHub**.
    3. Authorize the Honeycomb GitHub App for your account.
